What to expect when you call us?

4. You will receive a written estimate.

6. On the day of the work, the crew will ring/knock and announce themselves that they have arrived.

The Emerald Ash borer, a pain in the.......tree

Since their arrival in 2002, the Emerald Ash borer beetle has been among the most destructive insects North America has ever faced. It is thought that the insect came from Asia on one of the many wooden transportation boxes.  Adults grow to be about the size of a penny and feast on the tree leaves.  The damage however is done by their larvae, which are deposited inside the tree. When they hatch, they bore little passage ways throughout the tree, cutting it up from the inside. With that, they break the flow of water and nutrients within the tree, which in turn kills the tree. These little critters multiply extremely fast and it is almost impossible to stop them affecting the Ash Trees.  Drastic measures have been taken by many municipalities, for example, City of Hamilton has cut down all of their Ash Trees in order to prevent the spread of this insect, as well as for safety reasons. A dead Ash tree with weak limbs can be extremely dangerous in a wind or ice storm.   If you have an Ash tree, pay attention to little holes around the trunk. These would be the larvae exit holes.  If you see that, your tree has been affected, and may have to be removed eventually.
